Hair's The Word

Before: see those little curls in the back?

After: No more curls; he's a big boy now...

First haircut: it's done
Little curls cut away
Now he's a big boy

I took these photos last Saturday when Liam got his first haircut. I was nervous and weepy but I managed to get through. He, on the other hand, did swimmingly. No tears, only a few little unhappy faces.

Another first come and gone.

  1. Sounds like a much more peaceful experience than my oldest daughter's first haircut!!! What a cutie!

  2. I just adore that serious look on his face. So he did good? No tears? Awww, what a bittersweet milestone.

From a baby to a little old man in one hair cut.

  3. Aww, what a sweetie. Love his beautiful face and I agree with MG no tears! My kids all bawled through their first one. Well, the first two, my baby hasn't gotten one yet. Love those milestones.

  4. No tears is great. We had two years of tears. Way to go, Liam. And, way to handle it well, Toni.

  6. We stressed so much about both of our boys' first haircuts and they breezed right through. They look so much more grown up afterward.

  11. Aw! He's beautiful!

I remember when my son had his first hair cut. He was a perfect angel. Didn't move at all. Now, since then ... lol. Up until a couple of months ago, he has dreaded going to the hairdressers. We haven't taken our daughter yet.

  20. He might be a big boy now but he has the most adorable red cheeks. :) I'm glad the experience wasn't too traumatic.

  21. Aw, what a big boy! I remember the first time cutting off one of my son's curls, such a heartbreak!

Can you believe, with my middle daughter, I put it off until she was almost 3? (Youngest daughter STILL hasn't had her first haircut.)

  22. Cute kid! Firsts are harder on the mom than the child.
